Welcome to Montessori Kindergarten Ilfracombe
We are an Early Years provision following the Montessori philosophy whilst adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage.
With qualified/experienced staff passionate in providing the highest standard of care and education.
Set in the heart of Ilfracombe, in the beautifully renovated Trinity rooms.
A characterful detached Victorian building with a fully enclosed high walled garden and plenty of play space.
Easy walking distance from schools and shops, also a small parking area available for drop off and collection.
We take a maximum of 18 children, from 2 to rising fives.
Registered with Devon County council for EYEF funding for 2-3- and 4-year-old Children.
Open 51 weeks per year Monday - Friday 8.30 am to 4.30pm each day including most bank holidays.
The sole provider, Karen has over 25 years’ experience in working with children. And has spent 10 years working as the group leader in a Montessori Preschool in Queensland Australia, holding an Advanced Montessori Certificate in early years Education.
We are very excited to introduce the First Montessori Preschool in Ilfracombe. Our wish is that children and their families feel welcome and a part of our little Montessori community.

Here at Montessori Kindergarten Ilfracombe, we aim to provide a warm and nurturing environment, where children can be safe to learn, grow and thrive in our beautifully prepared environment.
Our unique care offers various activities that are specifically designed to encourage each child’s personal growth- these embed self-motivation, self-esteem and confidence.
We believe in developing the whole child, and our practice reflects this – with the children developing socially, emotionally, creatively, physically and spiritually.
Our wish is that children and their families feel welcome, and a part of our little Montessori community.
Through exploration, creativity and nurturing the children’s curiosity we aim to help them develop a love for learning and respect the world around them.
